When you hear salad you don’t get excited because it has been labelled as the diet food. What if that healthy diet food also quenches your thirst of spicy food? Because it does. You can make a salad in many ways and spice them up with other ingredients! I’m sharing five recipes of tasty salads you can make anytime!
1. Potato-Gram salad
This is my favorite salad cum Chaat. It’s spicy and sour.
1 & 1/2 cup soaked and boiled chane (groundnuts)
2 Boiled and diced potatoes
1/2 cup onion finely chopped
1/2 cup finely chopped raw mango
1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh coriander
2 teaspoon finely chopped mint leaves
1/2 cup grated coconut
1 chopped green chilli
1 teaspoon lemon juice
Salt and Black Pepper as per taste
Method: Mix all the above ingredients and garnish.
2. Peanut Salad
Half cup roasted peanuts
1/2 cup finely chopped onions
1/2 cup finely chopped tomatoes
2 teaspoon tomato sauce
1 finely chopped green chilli
1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
1 tablespoon coriander
Salt as per taste
Method: Mix all the ingredients well and enjoy!
3. Fruit and Veggies salad
1 ripe guava
1 ripe banana
1/2 pomegranate seeds
1 boiled potato
Black Pepper powder
Salt, sugar and chaat masala as per choice
Method: Chop all the fruits and vegetables in cubes. Mix other ingredients together and keep in under fridge to cool off. Serve cool.
4. Chinese Salad
1 cup salad vegetables (carrot, capsicum, cabbage, onion) cut in long and thin pieces
1/2 cup boiled corn
1/2 cup germinated peanuts
1 green chilli finely chopped
1 teaspoon vinegar
1 teaspoon sugar
Salt as per choice
Method: Mix all the ingredients together and serve them cool.
5. Poha Salad
1 cup soaked-in-water poha
1/2 cup grated beetroot
1/2 cup pomegranate seeds
1/2 cup boiled kabuli chana (chickpea)
1/2 boiled peanuts
1/2 boiled potatoes (diced)
Salt and black pepper powder
Method: Mix all the ingredients and your salad is ready. It can be used a diet food since it’s healthy and nutritious.
